Almost Here! The Jaguar C-X75 from Almost Real is now available for pre-order
I think I’ve found my first Almost Real model. As a collector of 1/18 supercars, with a focus on concept cars to boot, this has my name written all over it! Honestly, I forgot that this was supposed to be released by Almost Real, as I am sure most of you had too. We’ve collectively become numb to exciting “Coming Soon” announcements that end up taking years until fruition. That is not the case tonight, as Almost Real has finally posted photos of their finished product on their Facebook page.

Utilized as a Bond villain car in ‘Spectre’, the C-X75 was ‘almost real’ too. Jaguar unveiled the supercar in 2010 as a plug-in hybrid, a 300kW battery pack mated with a 500hp supercharged AND turbocharged 1.6L inline 4. Combined output was somewhere around an absolutely insane 850 horsepower. The most insane part of the C-X75’s story was that Jaguar killed off the project. “Before its time” is the understatement of the century here. A handful of “stunt cars” were built by Williams for ‘Spectre’ and one or two have been sold to the public.

This model here is finished in Firesand Metallic, just like Chassis 001, the car a baddie named Hinx chased James Bond in during the car chase scene in ‘Spectre’. It is THE color meant for the C-X75, if you ask me. The Almost Real model features opening butterfly doors and a rear engine hatch. I’ve already heard grumblings of a modest attempt on Almost Real’s part of replicating the complex engine bay on social media outlets, but the car is so gorgeous I’ll allow it to pass. The manufacturers suggested retail of this bad boy isn’t as shocking as their Zonda F, at ‘just’ $188.
