The Name’s World, Auto World. James Bond’s Esprit Sub Announced in 1/18 Scale!
Huge announcement from Auto World today: James Bond’s Lotus Esprit Submarine from The Spy Who Loved Me coming at you in 1/18 scale! The famous white S1 Esprit could transform from road car to submarine with the flick of a switch, and soon you can do the same with your own model of “Wet Nellie”. That’s right, Auto World is including all the parts you need to “transform” this 1/18 Esprit into James Bond’s submarine.

Based on the pictures Auto World posted on Facebook today, it looks like there will be several pieces that stick on or snap on to the road car to convert it to “Wet Nellie”. I’m assuming the rear propellers slide into where the rear bumper sits. It looks like two large covers slip over the wheels to add on the side fins. Spy gear paraphernalia and a periscope looks like they might attach to the roof of the Esprit with what might be magnets, but again that’s just an assumption. Static-cling window louvers snap onto the front and rear wind screens. The front missile launchers are activated by a switch on the underside of the Lotus.
