The Porsche + Majorette Union Flourishes into 2022
Recently I was asked, after all the unboxings of car models I have had to do over the years, have I begun to reach saturation point, and has it become just another mundane task associated with work? Not at all, I still rip boxes and packaging open giddy with excitement waiting to get my hands on what’s inside. In fact, I go as far as turning the whole process into some sort of ritual. Having the right time, perfect beverage, snack, adequate lighting, almost like sitting down to a good book.
The most recent pleasurable box rip was this awesome MAN TGX PORSCHE EXPERIENCE on wheels.
Porsche + Majorette
The two brands have developed quite a close partnership as we have seen a lot of Porsche licensed stuff coming out over the last two years which includes a Porsche Experience center which included a showroom, tracks, 5 cars, the full werks. This year along with some new color variations there have been some new Porsche castings as well and of course this experience truck.

The Truck
I’m mad for haulers, transporters, trucks and this is super sick. Nope not in the collector sense, in that Peter Pan forever young sense. This is not just transporting Porsche’s it’s transporting me back to a time when I was a kid setting up my toy city and my trucks were my pride and joy. I particularly loved a NASA Space Shuttle Transporter Truck with the Shuttle on the back. You see where we are going with this.
Diecast metal cab MAN TGX truck, which I would say is pretty well detailed. The Porsche Experience logo on the cab’s sides looks quite smart overall a simple but good-looking cab. The trailer is made mostly out of plastic but can hold 4 Majorette Porsche’s when opened. Two when closed. It opens to reveal a service area at the top of the trailer including a charging station (for show) for the new Taycan that comes supplied as well, in a beautiful blue.

The other service area on top is for the other supplied car which is a Bright Green GT3. There are also a few buttons and levers that help push the cars through, down ramps, and out the back. Very cool but if you are the sort of person that is pedantic about keeping your cars mint then DO NOT use this option because a car could accidentally get shoved out and rudely sent flying onto the floor.

When open and stationary the Service vehicle can attend to 4 vehicles at a time or even park 4 vehicles in the trailer. 3 Charging ports with Turbo Charge features which is great because Majorette also slipped in a new casting of the Porsche Taycan in three new colors. A beautiful sky blue with black wheels that come with the trailer set. Then in the premium range an additional two with one in Safety Car Livery. I love a Porsche in Uniform.

There is even space under the trailer for a car to tuck in and get charged out of the way from prying eyes if needed. Again, the trailer is more suited for a younger audience although there is no rule saying a collector can’t enjoy a little frivolous fun. So expect to see plasticky bits and features to play with. Of course, a bit of customization and paint can make things look completely different.

Accessories

The rig also comes with nifty accessories to build your service is set up for picture taking. Like this winner’s parking arch connecting the tire barriers on either side. Was a good opportunity to feature the new Taycan safety car up close.

A see-saw ramp because even your new Maroon Premium Majorette Porsche Taycan needs to have fun as well once in a while. Of course, the side flags are detachable so if you want you can show off more of your TAYCAN.

Paving way for us to have a nice backdrop to shoot what I would call Majorettes piece de resistance for this year which is the Porsche 917 in 4 different famous liveries.

Anatole Lapin
Anatole Lapin Under the list of influential car designers in the world you will have the name Anatole Lapin. True he didn’t have a coach company to his names like the Italian boys Bertone and Pininfarina. But while working for both Opel and Porsche in his career has penned and headed quite a few greats. The Porsche 924, 944, 928, and the 959. All super influential cars in their time for Porsche. But before all of that, he did paint the ‘Hippe’ and the ‘Pink Pig’ liveries on the Porsche 917’s at LeMans.

Given a psychedelic treatment that used 1,500 cans of spray paint and about a week of work to get this art on wheels out for LeMans and into the racing. Majorette has already done a great job on the casting of the 917K, with the addition of these classic paint jobs filled with history-making these impossible not to want to own.
