TARMAC WORKS SUPRA TOOLING No2
SUPRA TOOLING No2 – THE MA70 TARMAC WORKS RELEASE TODAY – JUNE 6 2022
In 2018 Tarmac Works dropped the first red Supra in its catalogue at the 2018 Malaysia Minicar Festival. Today 5 years later, we get a new Supra tooling in red and it looks perfect riding next to the previous release in similar colours right down to the rims. Whether it was a happy accident or planned it is appreciated either way, because when it comes to displaying models in 1/64 it’s not JUST the car but also, how the car fits into the collection that counts for some, which is why variations are so popular.
Two Generations of TOYOTA SUPRA. In one picture, what could be worse? Both made by TARMAC WORKS 1/64 Scale
First of all, the car looks stunning being chased by the newer generation model on our favourite Dream Customs Diecast Pad. Dream Customs pads are the only pads we use at CastHeads Media and you can see for yourself why. The MA70 version comes with a tiny but very legible JAPANESE styled number plate if you are new to Tarmac Works you should know there is a very strong association between the brand and Japanese Car culture.
3.0 Turbo A GT
What defined the culture was the fact that Japan had to have its variations of each model that was different to what was sent out to the rest of the world. Hence the term JDM (Japanese Domestic Market). This included different engines, interior trims and in certain cases slight variations in body size to me with European and American standards. The MA70 Supra although marketed in Japan isn’t a JDM version as the same engine and trim was sold in other countries as well. The JDM versions of this car got G and JZ engines with twin-turbo power while the export version got a single turbo and larger 3.0 engines.
I feel the more deadlier looking SUPRA 80’s thug design
As you can see no clear problems with the bodywork of the car. Everything is solid nothing missing or broken, really love the Bronze Volks, legible badging is as sharp as one can get on a model this small and so far, all the 80’s features on the car exterior are spot on. If you can squint your eyes, you will see the interior is very sporting in red and black tones, 4 point seat harness and then my eyes went sideways for a bit.
ON SALE today www.tarmacworks.com/ so get your purchases in. Some of you may have already pre-ordered this and awaiting eagerly for stocks to come. Supra fans, Japanese car culture fans, 80’s car fans, and TOYOTA fans (except the HiAce Fans) are all going to love this I’m already having my fun sticking it next to the newer younger brother and hope that TARMAC WORKS completes the trilogy with a 5th Gen J29 in Dark red with Bronze VOLKS. Happy Shopping!
