Radioactive Brit: Taking a Look at Top Speed’s Vantage
Top Speed is a new brand split from TSM. It aims to hit that sweet spot in 1/18 collecting between high end with opening features like AUTOart and TSM vs the cheaper sealed models like you’d see from Minichamps. Being one of their first releases, this Aston Martin Vantage in the Lime Essence really pops.
I did get this one second hand when a fellow CastHead put it up for sale. I recently had created a new very black backdrop and new it would look great against it. You wouldn’t need to put out any reflective markers if you broke down in this car. Everyone within a mile would see its glow.
Being a sealed resin model, you do have to give up any opening features. In return, however, all of your seams and ‘shut lines’ look incredible. The proportions and details are top notch here. Models usually start around $150.00 and I have to say that’s a good price for what you’re getting. Model is solid and doesn’t feel as frail as the latest ‘composite’ AUTOarts that have been coming out. I recommend keeping an eye on this group.
