The 3-in-1 Porsche

As a Porsche fan, you usually like to throw around three digit numbers with a 9 at the beginning. As a beginner, one tends to get confused and is usually quickly corrected by the Porsche fans standing around. With the new Old & New Body Kit Porsche from GT Spirit, the risk of getting tangled up is relatively high, because it is actually a combination of three different Porsches!

The base consists of a Porsche 997 Carrera. The 997 as the second model after the switch from air to water-cooled quickly enjoyed greater popularity than its predecessor, which is still deeply dividing the Porsche community today. In terms of design, Porsche revived its old values after the excursion into the so-called “fried eggs” and returned, for example, to the iconic round headlights of the most popular 993. Built for 8 years, the 997 shaped the sporty image of the streets from 2004 to 2012 with more than 200,000 copies including the facelift MKII models.

The body kit is of course very much based on the legendary Porsche 935, which dominated racing in the 1970s with its exemplary flat „Flachbau“-design. With 4 victories in a row from 1976 to 1979, as well as winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979, the car with its idiosyncratic design made its way into the annals of racing and also into the hearts of Porsche fans.

The third model on which the model from the Japanese tuning company Old & New is based is the Porsche 956, which, with its legendary Rothmans design, contributed the style-defining livery.

But lets talk about the 1/18 scaled GT Spirit model!

First of all: I love the paint job! The play of colors in the intense blue is not easy to be captured pictures as it looks in real life. The intensely shimmering blue contrasts with pure white, separated by two fine golden and red lines, is so well done that this alone would be worth a purchase decision for me.

The second eye-catcher is of course the eye-catching spoiler, which merges sportily and elegantly into the wide wheel arches of the model and thus underlines the power of the Porsche.

Point three: of course the golden BBS rims. And wow are these two-tone monsters detailed and fantastically crafted!
Also the details on the front (see pictures) are, from my point of view, very close to the original model and beautifully worked out.
The interior – to which GT Spirit traditionally has no access – also impresses with great details and stunning red RECARO sports seats.
Also included are Rothmans stickers that you can apply yourself, which I have not yet dared to do.

So all in all a very nicely done 997, no 935, or was it a 9something? model from GT Spirit, which I am proud to present and I am sure will bring joy to Porsche and Tuning fans likewise.
