OttOmobile looks to bankrupt me early next year.

How long has it been since we’ve seen an announcement from anyone with so many hits at once? OttOmobile’s newsletter hit my inbox the other day and my jaw hit the floor. I counted not one, not two, but three models that I might pre-order in both January AND February. I hope that Santa Clause knows how good of a boy I’ve been this year and leaves his credit card in my stocking.

First model that caught my eye was the ever beautiful E34 M5. OttO has released several E34’s over the years, most recently a bright red M5 Touring a few months ago. I used to have their black release with these same turbine wheels, but I found black too boring and hated the Style 20 wheels. I reluctantly sold it on ebay, hoping that OttO would bring the E34 M5 back again some day. Sure, this one also has Style 20 wheels, but that Lagoon Green Metallic paint job is too hard to say no to! Besides, this isn’t just any old E34 M5. This is a “Cecotto” edition; just 22 were built with options handselected by legendary driver Johnny Cecotto.

The second January model I’m eyeballing is this sexy red Alpine GTA Le Mans. This French beauty is not only rare, it was forbidden fruit here in the US of A. I’ve never had the opportunity to see one in person. I absolutely love the BBS wheels on this thing too. Maybe I’ll swap the wheels from this one onto the E34! (Please don’t Blacklist me, OttO!)

The third model I feel compelled to pre-order is the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI Tommi Makinen edition. It’s the JDM selection of the bunch, and who doesn’t love a good rally car? Tommi Makinen was one of the best to do it too; winning four championships in a row! Yes, the EVO VI wasn’t sold here in the United States either, but I HAVE seen one at my local cars and coffee! It would be super cool to get a shot of that car with this OttO.

The other two cars in January’s collection are no slouches either. Rounding out the month comes the Seat Leon MK2 Cupra R and Sébastien Loeb’s Renault Megan Maxi rally car.

All those knockouts and I haven’t even talked about the February models yet! First up we have yet another M5; a completely different M5 than the E34. The E60 M5 has divided M fans for a while now. There’s no denying stuffing a screaming V10 into a sport sedan is absolutely legendary, and therefore I want one. The thing is though, is that I already have a Kyosho E60 M5 on my shelf. It’s metal, everything opens, and it’s even finished in my favorite Interlagos Blue. Somehow, I’m intrigued by this OttO and just might have to get one for the sake of comparison alone.

The wait is finally over! After patiently praying for eight years, OttO is bringing the Volkswagen Golf Country BACK! Sure, it isn’t painted Montana Green Like OttO’s 2015 release, but I’ll take it. I love quirky cars like this. If a lifted, 4×4 Golf with crash bars isn’t quirky, then I don’t know what is.

I don’t think anyone saw this one coming. How had OttOmobile not produced a R32 Skyline GTR until now? It looks to be just about perfect too with gunmetal grey paint and stock wheels. This is another car that I already have a “premium diecast” model of, an AutoArt in the same color with gold BBS wheels. While the R32 entry into my Bumpr app should be closed, I can’t help but think I need this OttO too…

That’s not all for February either. 1/18 scale collectors are also treated to an available MK7 Fiesta ST and a super cool Renault 21 Super Production race car. So to recap: a V10 powered BMW sedan, a modern hot hatch, a JDM legend, a weirdo 4×4 lifted econo-box, and a French supertouring race car. Are there any other bases OttOmobile didn’t cover?
