I Found A Matchbox Chase Ford Bronco!
I always find my Supers and Chase pieces in the last place I look. A few weeks ago, I finally made it to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. The pharmacy had been sending me text message threats to return my medicine to the shelf if I did get my ass down there, so I dedicated a lunch break to make my way over there. Naturally, I was greeted by a line at the pick-up counter twenty sick people deep, so I decided to wander down to the sad selection of toys. Imagine my facial expression when this bad boy was staring right back at me, first car on the peg!

I knew Matchbox Chases were a thing, but I haven’t seen too many, in person or on social media. Honestly, my beady little eyes noticed the rubber wheels first. It wasn’t until I actually read “Matchbox Super Chase” across the card that it actually registered in my brain. No flashy paint, but lots and lots of tampos, plus the aforementioned rubber tires. Oh yeah, and I did remember to pick up my prescription too.

This Matchbox Super Chase Ford Bronco is definitely a cool piece, but it is far from perfect. More tampos means more chances for error. There was a lot of paint splatter that I edited out of my photos. Even the encircled Matchbox “M” stamped on the driver’s side of the Bronco was a mess. The casting itself is fantastic; I’m glad to see the four door Bronco getting some love. One let down I should point out though is the weak attempt at a spare tire. It’s already got a nasty sag going on that just brings everything else down with it.
