Tarmac Works’ Super Light DBS Superleggera
Huge grilles are all the rage these days, and for some reason they have been for a while now. Some have gotten it wrong, like BMW’s new M4 and Lexus in general, but others have nailed it. Of course, this is my subjective opinion, but Aston Martin is on top of my big grille list. This is the Tarmac Works Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, the tiniest biggest grille in my collection

I love the amount of detail pumped into this little 1/64 car. The headlamps are gorgeous intricate pieces and the wheels are spot-on accurate. The one let down though, is the grille! Believe it or not, it’s tough to get enough detail on the front of this DBS, even though it takes up so much real estate. It is a sealed, metal casting so Tarmac Works couldn’t exactly make it a perforated grille. They did their best, but it still looks “fake” to me. That said, I have no idea how they could have made the grille any differently.
Tarmac Works has released the DBS in Hyper Red as well as a yellow metallic through their Global64 line, but I swear I’ve seen a matte black version too. I found mine through an eBay selling for just under $15, and I’m more than happy with it in my collection! I’d love to see more Aston Martins come from the brand in the near future.
What do you think of the Tarmac Works Aston Martin DBS Superleggera?
