THE TRANSPORTER TOP 5 from the REVIEW DESK

Nope nothing to do with the famous role of Jason Statham in the Transporter Franchise, and very much unlike the Transporter ‘we’ always look in the packages. Instead, this blog will take you through the top 5 Diecast Car Transporters that have crossed our review desk and of course, we took some nice pictures to go.

Please note our numbering process is not based on any scientific approach we just looked at the coolness factor and the features factor and even maybe on the photogenic factor.

(No.5) HOTWHEELS Mercedes Transporter

HOTWHEELS Merc Transporter with matching 300SL and mainline 300SL. Also used SCALITE Figures from the APEX SERIES

HW has been adding numerous numbers of transporters in its series and has the largest collection of transporter products on a 1/64 scale at the moment. Flatbeds, elevated flatbeds, covered trucks, in all the liveries they have licenses for. Some of them are nice but some of them are pretty standout pairings.

MERCEDES EURO TRANSPORTER & MERCEDES 300 SL

In size this is the smallest out of the 1/64s we’ll be looking at here. Comes with long term sponsor IWC branding and livery and of course like all the others a paired matching 1/64 car. The 300 SL looks solid and fits perfectly into the back of the truck and if scalpers haven’t already eaten half of the stock in your area, there is another mainline version of the car that also looks nice together with the set.

Why on the list?

First up it’s a Mercedes set, you don’t see a lot of these lying around from Hot wheels, second, it’s Mercedes so we see a lot of extra detail going in giving off the impression of being premium. What?!?! How expensive is it????? Er…ok at that price it is premium.

Definitely the sort of winning line up TOTO would love!

(No.4) 1951 MACK B-61 FLATBED & 1971 CHEVROLET CAMARO

Dystopian art attack we are just loving the return of Muscle Machines in good hands

Maisto jumped back into the 1/64 game with the re-introduction of the Muscle Machines. This tooned version is very popular and so far, it has been linked to some amazing models in the catalogue. The MACK flatbed slides out and ramps down to onboard the car, love these massive superchargers and love the MAD MAX vibes.

Why on the list?

That dark grey looks stunning on both vehicles. And the Muscle machines treatment makes for a very interesting desk buddy. All the transporters in this series look hardcore, choosing one to rep them all is a huge undertaking. But we are pretty confident we made the right choice.

(No.3) The Porsche Experience Centre

The PORSCHE EXPERIENCE CENTRE

Majorette towards the end of last year launched their new experience Porsche Center this time in the shape of a transporter and mobile service unit. It comes with two models a light-blue Taycan and a green GTR3. The truck part is diecast metal and the trailing service section is plastic but very very detailed.

Why on the list?

Well, the Porsche service centre can accommodate two cars on the lower level, and the upper level has a charging e-station with fold-out chargers. I forgot to mention the entire rear folds open. There is even an under trailer charging station with a swing arm charger. This thing has so many options it’s like a swiss army knife. We love many options, especially regarding the storage and display of our 1/64 cars.

(No.2) Schuco PORSCHE Race Transporter

The white 911 is from the Paper Box Series by Schuco and the Mint Green is the Magnus Walker Special Edition

This one hits the trip down memory lane spot. For many collectors, this in a 1/18 scale has been the holy grail. 1/18 scale transporters command some insane prices. Schuco has done a nice thing by making this available in 1/64 for mere mortals like us.

Why on this list?

It’s downright gorgeous. Period correct and stunning. We just love how this piece looks in the collection. One curious thing, even though the Schuco transporter is longer than the Hotwheels version it’s not as wide, so fitting even a Schuco 911 Porsche wasn’t possible. I had to use a 1/87 Cartima Porsche Speedster. But we love the way a car in the back looks with the three skylights shining light in between the shadows onto the cargo.

(No.1) MC64 Scania 730S ADVAN LIVERY

MC64 EVO slips in to say Hi

When we got this into the office to review, I was all manner of excitement, this is one of those next gen 1/64 models where the details are off the charts.

This doesn’t just have great body detail or paint detail this has hydraulic styled hinges, many opening parts, turning front wheels, engine bay and engine a big reason why this is rocking in prices like USD200 on the Bay of E. I didn’t know it would jump USD100 in price leading to a demand.

Why at Number 1?

For starters it is a licensed ADVAN livery truck, that’s a big thing for us to note. If you feel heavy means quality this will blow you away at how heavy, it is.

Love the hydraulic styled hinges and am pleasantly surprised at how sturdy they are. I have to say MC64 has done a stunning job and I’m not surprised that it is sold out even with a fledging distribution. Newcomers MC64 showing a lot of promise right here.
