The Hot Wheels C6R Corvette casting is back on the pegs
I feel like it has been a while since we last saw the awesome C6R casting from Hot Wheels. In actuality, Mattel has thrown one our way just about every year for the past 3. Their latest though just might be my favorite. This one also appears to be a “Then and Now” edition too; I found a C8 Vette wearing the same livery at the store today. This one wears a number 6 on the side, the C8 wears a number 8, how cool is that?
The C6R is one of those rare race cars that Hot Wheels got right from the start. None of that up-turned chin business with this one! The headlight tampos are subtle, but effective. Sadly, the back end of the car is totally bare. We do get a nicely shaped metal spoiler too, instead of a cost-savings plasticy one.
Normally, I don’t seek out modern Corvettes when I’m hunting. This is one of those cases where the car just looks too good to leave behind. You cannot go wrong with red, white, and blue on a racecar Vette! Corevette fans will be happy to know there is a Walmart exclusive, 70th anniversary set to hunt for as well. There are six cars in the series to collect and the long absent C5 casting makes a return too!
